THE MISSOURI HOUR RECORD
The Missouri Hour Record is a one-day event on Saturday, May 7th at the Penrose Park Velodrome in St. Louis, MO. The Missouri Hour Record will see how far the fastest cyclists in Missouri can ride in one hour, with just one gear, and no power or computer data for assistance.
Bike Requirements
While a UCI Hour Record requires a classified Track Pursuit Bike, the Missouri Hour Record will have no restrictions of equipment, except for the following:
- If a Time Trial or Triathlon bike is chosen, instead of a Track Pursuit Bike, only one gear may be chosen, and this gear must be "locked" during the attempt.
- While a power meter and cycling computer may be connected and running during the attempt, it must be hidden from sight.
All participants attempting the Missouri Hour Record will receive a free Missouri Hour Record T-Shirt, and Missouri Hour Record Medal. The winner & record holder from each category will receive a Missouri Hour Record Holder Jersey.
Miscellaneous Details
- Riders will see a clock at the start/finish line every lap
- Laps will be counted both manually and electronically with a timing system
- The timekeeper shall, by ringing a bell, indicate the last lap (or the lap during which the hour expires) when the time remaining to ride is less than the average time realised over one lap of the track.
- Riders may utilize a standing start upon request
- The Missouri Hour Record has a Rain Date of Sunday, May 8th
